Winter Wonderland on Mount Seymour, British Columbia

These images were taken on Mount Seymour, where we spent a January afternoon snowshoeing through a truly magical forest. Fresh snow blanketed the ground, softening every sound, while towering evergreens—heavy with snow—created a quiet, almost enchanted atmosphere. The fog transformed the winter landscape into a serene, almost otherworldly scene. It softened the edges of the snow-covered trees and muted the colors, creating a quiet, dreamlike atmosphere. The forest felt hushed and intimate, as if wrapped in a gentle veil, where every step and sound was absorbed into the stillness.

Snow Flakes
Emily Dickinson (1830-1886)

I counted till they danced so
Their slippers leaped the town,
And then I took a pencil
To note the rebels down.
And then they grew so jolly
I did resign the prig,
And ten of my once stately toes
Are marshalled for a jig!

Snowshoeing through a white wonderland can be one a most rewarding experience on a winter day. Nature looks like straight out of a fairy tale. All is calm. The only sound is that of snowshoes treading through the paths. Breathing the fresh, crisp air. A healthy activity for body and soul.
