Oxfordshire Mouth Painter’s Polar Bears Chosen for Christmas Card in Landmark 70th Year
Keith Jansz’s “Mother and Baby” was selected from thousands of artworks worldwide by the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists, to become part of their 2026 Christmas collection.

OXFORDSHIRE, [19 October] A painting of a polar bear and her cub by Oxfordshire artist Keith Jansz, who paints by holding the brush in his mouth, has been chosen as a Christmas card. “Mother and Baby” was selected from among thousands of paintings reviewed from mouth and foot painters around the world and it will be part of the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA) 2026 Christmas collection in the UK.
Keith’s paintings have been chosen for MFPA Christmas cards before, but this selection comes in a
special landmark year. The MFPA is celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2026, highlighted by a major
London exhibition attended earlier this year by HRH The Duchess of Edinburgh in recognition of
seven decades of its artists’ unique work.
Keith said: “Every painting that becomes a card helps our mouth & foot painters to earn a living
through our art. To have my painting selected in this 70th year of our Association is a huge honour.”
Tom Yendell OBE, Board Member and President of the MFPA, said: “Thousands of paintings are
considered and only a handful become Christmas cards. Keith’s polar bears stood out, and we are
delighted to include them in our 70th anniversary collection.”
Keith took up painting after a car accident in 1995 left him paralyzed from the shoulders down, and
only two months after he ran the London Marathon. A book about mouth and foot painters, given to
him by his mother-in-law, had inspired him to give it a try. Keith became an MFPA student in 1998
and a full Member Artist in 2000. His work has since been exhibited in the UK, the US and Italy, and
in museums from Lisbon to Shanghai. Keith was elected by his peers to become a Board member of
the International Association of Mouth and Foot Painting Artists in 2026.
