A Winter Walk in Vancouver’s Stanley Park
Snowfall
You see it was a special kind of snow. A snow that made the happy happier and the giddy even giddier. A snow that makes a homecoming homier, and natural enemies, friends, natural. For it was the first snow of the season. And as any child can tell you, there’s a certain magic that comes with the very first snow, especially when it falls on the day before Christmas.

Walking through a winter wonderland such as Stanley Park in Vancouver brings me a kind of happiness like nothing else. When I head out with my camera, I secretly hope for a softly overcast sky and gentle snowfall — the kind of weather that wraps everything in quiet, diffused light and turns even the most familiar paths into something magical. The hush of falling snow, the muted colours, and the delicate patterns forming on branches create the perfect setting for capturing those fleeting, serene moments.
When it comes to skiing, however, that romance quickly gives way to a very different wish: clear skies, bright sunshine, and perfectly groomed runs.
