Merry! Humbug!
Merry! Humbug is a playful set of six postcards I designed during Covid. The collection includes five cards featuring Santa Claus and one starring Scrooge. After all, most of us have at least one delightfully naughty—or slightly grumpy—person in our lives who deserves a card of their own.
These two illustrations—Santa and Scrooge—are among my personal favorites. Their inspirations are quite clear: one comes from “’Twas the Night Before Christmas,” the beloved poem by the American writer Clement Clarke Moore, and the other from A Christmas Carol by the celebrated British author Charles Dickens.

Although these two classics are very different in tone—one warm and whimsical, the other reflective and moral—they have both become essential pillars of Christmas storytelling. Their main characters, Santa Claus and Ebenezer Scrooge, continue to shape how we imagine and celebrate the spirit of Christmas today.
A set of these postcards is included with every Christmas-themed product purchased from my Etsy shop.

Three of my most treasured Christmas ornaments.

“A merry Christmas, uncle! God save you!” cried a cheerful voice. It was the voice of Scrooge’s nephew, who came upon him so quickly that this was the first intimation he had of his approach.
“Bah!” said Scrooge, “Humbug!”
