New year’s Eve at our home is usually very low key. When we were younger we used to always work. Therefore I guess we never really got into throwing or going to a big party.

Confetti for New Year’s Eve

Tiny New Year’s wishes were mixed into a regular mix of confetti. Write them on your computer, print it out and cut it into pieces.

Chinese Takeout Boxes as Table Lanterns

Use frosted Chinese takeout boxes as place decorations for your dinner table. You may attach a fortune cookie saying on each box. Or maybe place a fortune cookie on each plate for lots of good luck. When lighting the candles, make sure the boxes stay open in order not to catch fire.

Space Blanket Table Cover

A fun way to cover the table for a New Year’s Eve dinner is to use a space blanket. Keep the light low and the candle light will reflect in it like the stars in the sky.
