A Walk Through Van Dusen Gardens on New Year's Eve 2003 It started to snow yesterday afternoon and the flakes kept on falling all through the night. This morning I was anxious to get up and go out into winter wonderland. But to my utter disbelieve and disappointment it was raining onto the snow! A few hours of patience paid off. I went to Van Dusen Botanical Garden. I love this garden and consider it my retreat in the city. I have taken hundreds of pictures at the garden of countless flowers and plants throughout the years.
The garden was deserted today and just stunningly beautiful and quiet. I walked through untouched snow and absorbed the beauty of the garden covered in white. I took many pictures and am very happy with the outcome. Just the perfect ending to an exciting year. This year our New Year's Eve celebrations are very low key. Klaus and I will go to the movie theatre this afternoon and later have a cheese fondue at home. Just the two of us. Wishing all of you a happy and prosperous new year!
