The Christmas Card Exchange

Last year we had a little Christmas card exchange going at the Christmas Magazine. I started it due to the lack of Christmas greetings we receive. It seems that every year we get less cards and I think it is sad. I love and cherish the tradition of writing Christmas cards.

The response to our Christmas card exchange was overwhelming. We received many cards that were made with lots of dedication and care. Therefore we would like to share some of the ideas with you and hope it might inspire you.

If you like to share your Christmas cards with us, please send us an example and we are happy to share your ideas with our readers. Our mailing address is as follows:

Christmas Magazine
Box 610 - 819 Hamilton Street
Vancouver, BC, V6B 6M2, Canada

What to write?

It's not always easy to come up with a meaningful text. On the other hand I hate to just write the standard good wishes. Here is my example which everybody may find helpful. Simply write down why you love the Christmas season. If the list gets very long, you can print it, handwrite a greeting, and enclose everything in your Christmas card.

I love the Christmas season because:

winter is coming
the days are getting shorter
the city is wearing its festive robe
because home is so cozy
the candles have a magical glow
the tree can be decorated
Stollen and Panettone is available in stores
I dream of baking (emphasis on dreaming)...
the Christmas mail is being written
of the wrapping of the gifts
of all the beautiful celebrations with friends and family
the mailbox is full with warm wishes
You and I enjoy the season together
Santa comes
a new year will begin

(written for Klaus, 2005)
