About the Christmas Magazine
During my years in the Swiss hotel industry preparing a hotel for Christmas was my favorite part of the year and of my job description. Once I moved to Canada and my career changed I started to miss the elaborate preparations for the season. With the popularity of the Internet raising, I soon found a new outlet and opportunity and created a Christmas related website. Together with my husband Klaus I designed a small site for our friends and family. It turned out to be such a success, that I had to promise to create another Christmas site for the following year. And in 1999 the Christmas Magazine went online. Since then we have faced many challenges and happy moments - especially in Germany the website has become a Christmas season favorite. Every year the Advent calendar is filled with a variety of new content. Therefore sign up for our newsletter and we keep you updated.

Dedications The 2003 edition was dedicated to my husband Klaus. He was there from the beginning. His constant support and numerous contributions to this web site are priceless. Without his hard work, the Christmas Magazine would lack a lot of interactive features such as the message board and the eCards. And without his enthusiasm and cheering on this web site would not have come as far as it did. Klaus is somebody who loves to celebrate Christmas as much as I do. In 2002 the Christmas Magazine was dedicated to my brother Ivo Isenschmid. Besides being my brother, he is the Swiss connection and organizer of things when needed here in Canada. He runs around to find a rare magazine or a certain kind of greeting cards. And he is also the one that sends me my european eBay auction items. Thank you! 2000 - Was dedicated to my long time friend Suzanne Conrad. She is the editor for the German version of the magazine and I truly value her contributions for both content and her Swiss flair. Suzanne and I met years ago in Zermatt where we worked at the same hotel. Since then we have celebrated many occasions together but never Christmas.
Mrs. Gasteyger was my boss at the Hotel International in Basel, Switzerland. She taught me everything from arranging flowers to decorating the hotel for the highly celebrated carnival season. She was a trend setter with excellent taste and she always knew what she wanted. |
