Sparkling Shiraz

As we did our wine shopping for Christmas last year a bottle label caught my attention. It read "Sparkling Shiraz". The wine was by Sumac Ridge a British Columbia vinery. I love sparkling wines and champagnes and just had to get a bottle to try.

The first thing that catches your attention when serving sparkling Shiraz is the color! It's a deep red and it looks fantastic in champagne flutes. The wine is very dry and I think perfect as a pre-dinner drink.

With its $30.00 price tag the sparkling Shiraz by Sumac Ridge is rather expensive though. But there are excellent alternatives from Australia on the market. Check them out.
