Not a cook? Not a problem!

Never held a dinner party? The thought of entertaining guests for dinner can evoke nightmares in people who consider themselves totally inept in a kitchen environment. But having guests over for dinner does not have to be a work out. With a little creativity everybody can prepare a delicious meal that tastes as if the host spent the entire day in the kitchen preparing. Remember it is the company of your friends and family that is the most important part of a dinner affair and not the food. Of course it helps if the food is delicious...!

Here is a tasty meal that barely requires any cooking skills. You can always keep it your secret.

Measure 2 TBS of whipping cream per person (for the soup and dessert). Beat the cream, cover and store in fridge.

Use either canned or packaged soup. Cook according to instructions. If desired: just before serving add a shot glass of vodka to the soup. Pour in bowls and garnish with a dollop of whipped cream.

Tortellini

tortellini on sage butter

Buy the handmade tortellini at an Italian grocery store or at the market. It needs about 150 grams or 6 ounces per person. Ask for cooking time.

Boil a pot of water, add salt and cook tortellini until al dente. Meanwhile coarsely chop sage. Melt 60 grams / 2 ounces of butter in frying pan. In the end turn tortellini in butter and serve in deep plates.

Selection of Cheeses

Small portions of three different cheeses are enough for a dessert course.

Plate the cheese before dinner. Cover the plates with plastic foil and keep in fridge.

At the beginning of dinner take the plates out of the fridge. Before serving add the grapes. Serve with French bread.

After the cheese course heat the berries in a pot. Add maybe a spoon of water to it. Once the berries are hot, spoon them into glasses, add the ice cream and a dollop of whipping cream.
