Brazil Nuts in a Bowl

Materials

Bowl
Cylinder candle
Brazil nuts

Place the candle in the bowl and fill in the space around it with the nuts.

If a scented candle is used do not eat the nuts as the candle's chemicals may be harmful.

Candle Light

One can not have enough candles in the house during the winter. I like to light one every day in the late afternoon.

Candles can be displayed in almost any container. Old fashioned glasses look especially nice. To accessorize your collection of candle holders, add a candle snuffer. They are now available in almost any gift shop.

To save a bit of money on candles, I like to buy ordinary white and beige votives and cylinders at the Dollar Store. Tea lights are another inexpensive solution.

Candle Care

A few rules that prolong the life of your candles.

• To prevent uneven burning or dripping, keep wicks trimmed to at least 1/4 inch.
  
  
• Leave a candle burning for one hour of each inch of its diameter.
  
  
• Keep candles away from draft and heat sources.
  
  
• Has your candle a very small flame, you might have to poor out some of the wax. Trim the rim of the candle, as it burns down.
  
  
• Never leave burning candles unattended.
  
  
• Display candles in non-flammable and heat resistant containers and surfaces.
  
  
• Keep candles away from direct sunlight. It bleaches the color and the candles lose their shape if it gets too warm.
